Magandang Umaga!
On the second day of training, we focused more on team brainstorming within
our groups. We were able to express our interests, share the things we enjoy
doing, and collaborate what helps us maintain our mental health. We are also
finalizing our blog and sending photos to our group chat, checking previews. Although
we don't have access to Schoology yet, our facilitator, Dr. Matilda Rivera, has
been incredibly helpful and provided us with everything we need.
This experience reminded me of our Google Classroom
training during the pandemic. Just like then, this training involves actual,
highly engaging work where we get to feel like students. Back then, we also had
a week of preparation before starting our online classes.
A blog can be incredibly helpful for classroom preparation because it gives students a clear overview of the material. However, I think it works best when paired with videos, which is especially useful for elementary teachers. For me, the most efficient part of using a blog is the accessibility of the content we create. I can simply archive our work and pull it out whenever I need a presentation. This is highly beneficial for daily lesson planning, especially since our school moves at a rigorous pace and administration checks our plans weekly.
Additionally,
if I ever need to travel or am out of the building, I can easily prepare these
resources in advance and share them with my substitute teacher.
We came
prepared today, we have plenty of snacks to share (‘;”)
Indeed, a
remarkable day.

Oh! I like your idea with using the blog as a resource for our substitute to use while we're out. It's pretty user friendly.
ReplyDeleteSalamat, Mari, for sharing your thoughtful reflection. Your insights highlight the value of collaboration, preparation, and technology integration, and I am pleased to see you making meaningful connections between past learning experiences and the practical applications of blogging in today's classroom.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this collaborative activity allows us to experience what our students will experience if we give them a similar assignment. The pandemic has truly opened our eyes to educational technology and how collaboration can also be practiced through ed tech. I think that once we familiarize ourselves with these apps and other tech tools, we can fully utilize them in our classrooms and create a fun and engaging experience for our students.
